Kick-starting the transformation of one of the largest media companies in APAC to become future-ready

A legacy newspaper publishing business in Singapore suffered years of revenue decline due to digital disruption. The newly appointed Deputy CEO wanted to shift from cost-cutting and downsizing, to growth and innovation, however previous attempts at innovation had failed to move the needle.



Venturetec started the 100 day innovation sprint with a diagnostic to understand the current state of future-readiness. Utilising the data and insights from the diagnostic we designed a dual-speed transformation roadmap consisting of long-term transformation program, as well as rapid projects that would have maximum impact in the short term. We also ran several innovation initiatives to rapidly uplift the capabilities and culture of the organisation; including an innovation accelerator program.



We presented the executive team with an in-depth report on the current state of future-readiness along with key recommendations; one that was immediately actioned was to kick-off an enterprise-wide Future Ways of Working program. During the sprint we also worked with teams to design and launch several product and process innovations which were showcased at the organisation’s first Innovation Day.
